The European Commission is developing an automated Translation Platform within the framework of the programme Connecting Europe Facility (CEF AT) in order to facilitate multilingual communication and exchange of documents among and with national civil services in Europe. This platform is free for the european public institutions and has been developed by the General directorate of Translation of the European commission.
Furthermore, the SETSI, as a promoter of the Plan to promote the language technology (PITL), within the framework of the Digital Agenda in spain and the Reuse of public Sector information (RISP) strengthens the role of the consortium European Language Resource Coordination (ELRC) and supports the development of the EFC platform.
The workshop, which will be opened by the european commission and by the secretary of State of telecommunications and for the information society, will be attended by the major experts at the national and european level in the area of automated translation and Open Database of Linguistic Interest, as well as the participation of key institutions of the sector.
This jornada-taller will focus on the needs of translation in public institutions, with special emphasis on the multilingual working environments, as well as in the linguistic resources currently available.
