On the occasion of the International Conference open database and in accordance with the agenda the 2016 pre-eventos IODC , will take place on 5 october in madrid cultural space Media-Lab Prado, the international summit of cities open: Open Cities Summit .
This meeting will bring together experts in international open data in order to show how they are used in the world open data to improve living conditions in urban environments, promote the exchange of knowledge on the open city, and find solutions to the challenges of creating an Open City in four areas: open data policy, urban planning, environment and competitiveness.
The Open Cities Summit is aimed both at civil servants, journalists, civil organizations, researchers and any citizen who trusted the potential of open database for improving the environments in which they live. Thus, the event will consist of workshops, lectures and round tables, which would be structured into three parts; firstly, the experts gathered there shared data policies open their cities and how they help teach in the lives of people. Subsequently, in different groups participants of the summit will work together to find solutions to the four challenges described above and, finally, will be held an open space where to discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by an open city.
