According to the eGovernment Benchmark 2024 published by the European Commission, Spain is located at the medium-high level of digital government maturity with 79%, above the European average (76%), ranking 12th among EU countries.
Among the indicators that measure the performance of eGovernment policies, Spain stands out especially in User Centrciity (98 points compared to 93 on average in the EU), which measures whether a service is offered online (98 compared to 92), whether there are support and help functionalities (100 compared to 94) and whether it is adapted to a mobile device (95 compared to 95).
In the rest of the indicators, Spain is above the average of EU countries in Transparency (71 points compared to 67 in the EU) and Key enablers (83 compared to 78), and slightly below in Cross-border Services (65 compared to 66). Among other data, the report highlights that 97% of services are online, 67% of government portals show whether personal data was consulted, 90% of services accept eID login, 73% of services are online for cross-borders users and 81% of services have pre-filled personal information.
