According to the eGovernment Benchmark 2020 published by the European Commission, Spain is located with a medium-high level of penetration and digitization, forming part of the Fruitful eGov scenario, which includes the best countries in its class above the European average.
The high usability average of 91% on average indicates that not only services are available online but also backed by reliable user support. Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey have achieved a score of 100% on this indicator.
In Spain, seven out of ten people who needed to complete a government form did so online (70%) together with Finland, Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Estonia, the Netherlands and Latvia. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Spain outperform both in penetration and digitization compared to European countries with similar characteristics.
