The past 29 may 2015 AENOR (spanish association for Standardization and certification) published two new rules on intelligent cities: UNE 178303 and UNE-ISO 37120. These rules are already published A 178301 open database (Open Data).
This way, since there are 3 published standards in the field of intelligent cities. These documents have been developed in the technical committee for standardization of AENOR on Ciudades Inteligentes (AEN/CTN 178), promoted by the SETSI (State secretariat for Telecommunications and for the information society of the ministry of industry, energy and tourism). In this committee over 300 experts from all parties concerned to be an example of public-private partnerships.
The Standard UNE 178303 "smart cities. Management of assets of the city. Especificaciones" establishes the requirements to develop a system of asset management of the city, which allows local entities, according to its strategic plan, manage everything possible, sustainable and effectively their assets, its performance, risks and costs associated along the entire life cycle of different assets.
Among other advantages, this document allows the local government to obtain precise information of the state of conservation and the elements and facilities of the city, optimizing acquisition costs and maintenance, as provided for adequate planning in the medium and long
deadline for new acquisitions and replacements of assets. The people, is a tool for greater transparency in the management of local governments.
This document is for all kinds of local bodies (municipalities, communities, candidacies, etc.), irrespective of their size, complexity or technology that possesses. The entity will take the liberty to establish the scope of assets, the level of detail of the inventory and associated information of each asset.
For its part, the standard "UNE-ISO 37120 sustainable communities. Indicators for cities and the quality of life" reflected international indicators of urban sustainability, which help to the preparation of reports to measure, in a comparable and verifiable manner, the performance of urban services as well as the quality of life in cities. This rule, international origin, has been incorporated into the spanish catalogue of technical standards. This document is for all kinds of cities, regardless of their size and location.
