Held the last hackathon on challenges of the passerelle Única Digital

It has been held in Barcelona last series hackathon organized by the european commission on the challenges of Bridging the Digital Única. On this occasion, defied the participants to find within 24 hours a technological solution allowing manufacturers to find all the european and national regulations applicable to them.

The Regulation (EU) 2018/1724 of the european parliament and the council (Opens in new window) 2 october 2018 establishing a single digital gateway for access to information, procedures and appropriate assistance and resolution of problems and amending council regulation (EU) # 1024/2012, focuses on the use of digital technologies to remove barriers and to enhance the european internal market.

In the case of manufacturers that want to sell their products in some eu member state, need to know the applicable regulation at european and national level. But there is an international codification of products that uses the Trade Helpdesk (Opens in new window) the commission relate to the european legislation applicable to each one, is not in general at the national level, where we do not use such codification or the information is not structured, so that it is only available official bulletins published all regulations and find those that refer to each product.

The groups carried a web interface for manufacturers to make your search on different sources formal and informal business of european legislation and national levels, mainly using technologies natural language processing (NLP) to find the appropriate references to their products in regulatory texts – irrespective of denominación- and offer them as search results.
