According to data of the report Open Data Maturity in Europe 2017, spain continues in the positions of head of the ranking that measured the maturity of the open data in europe, having led the last year.

It Is the third edition of this report which covers a set of indicators to measure the maturity of the open data across europe. These indicators cover the level of development of national policies that promote open data, an assessment of the features available in the websites of national data, including the impact of open data.

Spain is situated in second place, in the group of leaders or bookmarks of trends, together with ireland, holland, france and finland. Despite the loss of leadership which acted in 2016, remains in the positions of head and has improved over the previous year.

Spain has reached full maturity in the indicator on the impact of open data, obtaining the maximum score in the 3 sub-indicators: negative social, economic and political. It also has improved its score in indicator of use of open data, due to increased availability of data sets machine-readable, more foreign visitors to the portal and monitoring of traffic of the portal. Instead, it has slightly decreased the score in the policy of open because of the rules of licensing and because the approach on how to open data has not changed since mid-2016.

The report highlights the significant progress has been achieved in Europe over the past two years in Open Data, although we still have some way to improve, and proposes recommendations for further and thereby contribute to the economy of european database.
