The ONTSI publishes the fifth edition of the report “ Infomediario Sector to the economy of Dato. Characterization of Infomediario Sector ”. In Addition, there has been focused analysis of the role of the public and infomediario sector clients and moving its activity.

The The National observatory of telecommunications and information society (ONTSI) has published the report Infomediario Sector to the economy of Dato. Characterization of Infomediario Sector (Opens in new window) that analysis of trends and current positioning of this sector.

In this fifth edition have been identified over 700 companies infomediarias a turnover of €1.987M in 2018, reflecting an increase since the previous edition. The main activity carried out by these companies is addressed to the analysis and data display (65.5 per cent) followed by the aggregation of data sources and improving its quality (52.9 per cent).

In this study showed that the characteristics of the data more impact in generating business are updating and completeness. On the key barriers, highlighted the lack of information and homogeneity. For the future of the sector, companies point to the development of consulting activities and data analysis where they are becoming ever more relevant for the provision of services from the cloud, and the integration of new technologies such as the Big Standing and Artificial intelligence.


In addition, the report has been drawn up: “ Public Administrations to reuse of public information (Opens in new window) ” specifically describing how to interact with this sector Management, bearing in mind that almost 50% of companies are infomediario Administration as a client. It reflects the AAPP collaborate with the infomediarias companies to improve the publication of information and data and to develop internal systems based on data. The report also reflects the challenges faced by public administrations in this area as well as a set of recommendations for enhancing reuse in the Public domain.
