Public hearing of the royal decree on the accessibility of websites and applications for mobile devices in the public Sector

The procedure for a public hearing will be open until the next 27 february to receipt of comments.

On 2 december 2016 is issued Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the european parliament and of the council of 26 october 2016, on the accessibility of websites and applications for mobile devices of the public sector agencies, the entry into force on 22 december 2016. This directive establishes the conditions, with regard to their accessibility, which will have to comply with all websites and mobile applications of the public sector: the state, regional, local, universities, etc. also included such entities as health and education centres, libraries, courts, etc.

According to the directive itself, it must be transposed before 23 september 2018. This Royal Decree that is being handled, public hearing by the requirement of transposition into spanish law and will supersede and improve the conditions that are required as to the public administrations Royal Decree 1494/2007 (Opens in new window) , compliance with the requirements of priority 1 and 2 of the standard UNE 139803:2012 (equivalent to level AA WCAG 2.0 in).

The procedure for hearing and public information, aims to collect the views of citizens rights holders and legitimate interests are affected by an already drafted policy project, either directly or through the organizations or associations that represent, as well as to obtain as many additional contributions to other persons or entities. This procedure is published in the site of the ministry of finance and Public Service (Opens in new window) . The receipt of contributions will be open until 27 february.
