New version of the metadata Schema for the management of Electronic Document (e-EMGDE) v2.0

The e-EMGDE v2.0 represents the evolution of the previous version, in the light of lessons learned from the implementation of the first version and updating the context of reference.

It has perfected the alignment of Metadata schema for the management of Electronic Document (e-EMGDE) with the minimum mandatory metadata, including some new elements and subitems, improved descriptions and considerations of use, while maintaining its characteristics of extensibility and flexibility to their implantation on systems of different kinds and facilitating greater interoperability between different systems and throughout the life cycle of documents, it fills with patterns of values and annexes, all this in the light of the many contributions received from the AA.PP. and policies of document management que se han ido publicando y de las actualizaciones de las normas y estándares de referencia.

According to the Royal Decree 4 / 2010 (Opens in new window) , an outline of metadata is a tool that defines the incorporation and metadata management of content, context and structure of electronic documents throughout their life cycle.

Under the Norma Técnica de Interoperabilidad de Política de gestión de documentos electrónicos , the eEMGDE v2.0 is of a general nature, applicable in areas of diverse nature and with different degrees of complexity in the management of documents, and with room for selecting the specifically applicable in each entity.

The metadata Schema for the management of Electronic Document (e-EMGDE) which develops, is of a general nature, applicable in different areas and with different degrees of complexity in the management of documents, establishing:

  • The conceptual model which supports the model of metadata, its properties and its rationale.
  • The description of each of the elements and metadata sub-elementos, through the description of each of its features: definition, purpose, compulsion, etc.
  • Values schemes required to complete the values of the elements of metadata relevant.

References to standards used as a basis, as well as other rules of possible usefulness.
