The National Observatory of telecommunications and the information society presents the study of Infomediario Sector 2014. The study has previous editions in 2011 and 2012, so it is its 3rd edition.
The study provides and analyses the essential elements that define the Infomediario sector in spain, sector comprised of the companies which generate products and/or services to third parties from the public sector information; taking into account in the enterprises that have created for that purpose and those with an area and/or specific department dedicated to the creation and commercialization of new products and/or services based on public sector information.
This new edition focuses on three reports:
- Part I. Infomediario public Sector Where, as in previous editions analyses the type of companies that used to recycle infomediarias public sector information, giving particular attention to the characterization of the sector; to the characterization of primary information; and the market and the demand for products and services. As remarkable data mention that the sector would maintain 4,200 and 4,700 between employees and generates a volume of business for the year 2013 be between 450 and the eur 500 million. Furthermore, as a particular developments regarding the previous editions there is a new section dedicated to the evaluation of the quality of the information provided by the public sector from the point of view of the companies reutilizadoras.
- Part II . In this new edition has been further included a first approach to the companies that used to recycle infomediarias information on the private sector; to elaborate on areas such as the characterization of the private sector information reused or characterization reutilizadora activity of such enterprises.
- Part III Finally, it is presented as new research and analysis of specific coste-beneficio posed by the meteorological information in the electricity sector. The study intends to respond to the growing interest in knowing what the value of open public data in society; to that end, as the first Area of approximation to the quantification of such an analysis has been conducted on the added value of the reuse of meteorological information in the electricity sector, specifically in the management of their activity.
