The European Commission is developing an automated Translation Platform within the programme Connecting Europe Facility (CEF AT) to facilitate multilingual communication and exchange between documents and with national public administrations in Europa. This platform is free for European public institutions and has been developed by the General direction of Translation of the European commission.
On the other hand, SETSI, as a promoter the Plan of Momentum of language technologies (PITL), in the framework of the Digital Agenda for Spain and politics of reuse of public Sector information (RISP), reinforces the task of the consortium European Language Resource Coordination (ELRC) and supports the development of the platform CEF AT.
The workshop, which will be opened by the European commission and by the secretary of state of telecommunications and for the information society, will count with the presence of the leading experts at national and European level in the field of machine translation and open data Linguistic Interest, as well as the participation of key institutions in the sector.
This jornada-taller will focus on translation needs in public institutions, with special emphasis on the multilingual working environments, as well as in the linguistic resources currently available.
