The vice-president made the creation of a security operations centre of the General state administration (SOC-AGE) for the year 2018.

With more than 1,700 persons (21 per cent more than last edition), were held in Madrid by CCN-CERT, organized by the National Cryptologic centre (NCC) (Opens in new window) , a branch of the national intelligence Centre (CNI). The event, which was opened by the vice-president, minister of the presidency and territorial administrations, Soraya Saénz de Santamaría, on 13 and 14 december, in Madrid, the major sector experts from the public sector companies, of strategic interest of the country and industry.

Under the slogan “ Cyber Threats, the challenge of sharing ”, the congress, which was attended as master of ceremonies with well-known journalist José Ribagorda, accommodated 55 rapporteurs distributed into three main areas: threats, attacks and technological challenges; national security and compliance and Prevention in Cybersecurity.


At its statement (Opens in new window) , vice-president announced that “ from the year 2018 will launch the security operations centre of the General state administration (SOC-AGE). The operations centre will strengthen the capacity to monitor the administration, allowing for even more effective response to the cyber threats ”.

The SOC will depend on the General secretariat of Digital Administration (SGAD), the ministry of finance and Public Function, even though it will be the CCN-CERT, such as National Governmental CERT, providing the service, under the supervision of the SGAD.

Through this centre will provide cross-cutting services throughout the administration, improving capacities for monitoring and detection of incidents in the systems of the AGE and optimise the capacity to react and respond to any attack.

Prizes to the professional career

One of the most emotive event was the delivery, by the vice-president of the Government of the awards of the Centre national Cryptologic career in favour of cyber security.

These awards, whose first issue has been held this year, a tribute to the NCC to all those professionals, mostly anonymous, who have spent hours and hours of study and work, on numerous occasions selflessly to ensure to all communications society safer.

On this occasion, the recipients were José Antonio Way, professor at the Universidad politécnica de Madrid and developer tool PILLAR (Opens in new window) hazard analysis and José Antonio Mira, adviser to the Ncc.

Support of the security sector

Converted to the main encounter of cyber security held in spain, these meetings also owe their success to the support and collaboration of the industry. With 30 sponsors and 13 partners, the encounter with InnoTec as a sponsor VIP and S2 Group, Microsoft and Panda as strategic sponsors; followed by CSA, FireEye, IBM and Minsait-Indra as Platinum, while Bitdefender, Eulen Security Nextway GTI, Kaspersky, Sidertia Symanteclo and in the form of Gold.
